Sandie:
Thanks for sharing sounds like it was a good time overall. I was wondering about the government school kids being there. That was one reason I decided not to go.
Hope to see you at the pot luck on the 14th of October.

Oct. 14th Election Process to be explained following Potluck
September 17, 2008 by twhite
Guilford Christian Academy will be hosting a potluck supper for the
families in our school on Tuesday, October 14th from 5:30-6:30. At 6:30 we
will have an open invitation for homeschoolers to join us for a
presentation from Professor John Frary on the election process. If you
are not acquainted with Prof. John Frary he is a very colorful speaker and
is running for Congress in opposition to Mike Michaud. We have asked Prof.
Frary to do this talk on the election process, it is not a campaign
speech. Although he may throw a plug in. We will also be asking
participants to leave a donation, if they desire, to assist in travel
expenses. Prof. Frary is travelling to Sebec from Farmington. He is a
homeschool supporter, here is a page from his site with some of his views
on homeschooling, http://fraryforcongress.com/dumb.html.
We will be holding this event at Sebec Corner Baptist Church, if you need
directions email me.
Thank you,
Trisha White

For Sale or Want
September 17, 2008 by twhite
I have a Switched on Schoolhouse 10th grade history for sale.
I would like $20 for this. We are located in Guilford Maine if you want to pick it up here or you can have it shipped.
I accept paypal and prefer it. If you have it shipped I will not charge a handling fee. If you pay other than paypal and need it shipped I have to charge a small handling fee for gas to drive it to the PO.
Please email me at trishawhite@guilfordchristianacademy.com
Thanks,
Trisha

This is one of my favorite photos. I like all the different colors. It is of the science class that we did with Tony Sohns, 2005 I believe, it is a UMO.

Apple Fritters!
1 c. flour
1/4 cup sugar
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup milk
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups chopped apples
Oil or shortening for frying
Confectioners sugar
Combine dry ingredients. Stir in milk and eggs until flour is just moistened.
Stir in apples. Heat oil to 350 degrees in frying pan. Carefully drop apple mixture by scant 1/4 cupfuls of oil. Fry 3-4 at a time, 4-5 minutes or until deep golden brown, turning occasionally. Drain on paper towel. Sprinkle warm fritters with confectioners sugar.
I got this recipe out of the "Northwoods Sporting Journal" last fall and we really like them. Enjoy.

We are thinking about going actually with another family from GCA.
If we do go we could meet up with you there to introduce ourselves.
What's for Breakfast?

What are some things that you make for breakfast? We have eggs and toast with bacon or sausage most mornings. We have baked oatmeal from time to time, pancakes or waffles.
What are some of the things you make for breakfast?
