Is anyone going to Augusta on Sept 17th for Bug Maine-ia? We are thinking of making the trek down, didn't know if anyone else from GCA might be there and we could make some new friends! :-)
We are thinking about going actually with another family from GCA.
If we do go we could meet up with you there to introduce ourselves.
Well Trisha, it's just a few days away now, and it looks pretty confirmed on my end that we will be there. Will be a friend from Midcoast who has two young boys homeschooling too. Look forward to meeting you! Sandie
Well, we had a great time. And now, for next year I will be be more planned...i.e. pack a lunch so we can take a take a break mid day. It was very busy, but the kids had a great time. They had many displays with tons of bugs...some live ones you could touch and let crawl on you ( a caterpillar, a beetle) and live interactive displays of bugs in water environments where the kids could try and catch one with a plastic spoon. It was extremely busy and there were thousands of kids there, and there was a lot we didnt get to see because the crowds were so overwhelming. I think next year we'll plan to go from 12-3... the crowds died down after 1 or so, but by then I was beat and still had a long drive home so we didnt go back in to see what we missed. We got some neat pictures and learned some interesting things, so, glad we went. Look forward to making more trips to the museum itself...was awesome and we didnt see nearly 1/2 of it! Will sort through my pictures today and try and post a few!
